Job description – Music Teacher

In this Music Teacher role, you will be working with multiple primary schools in your area, delivering fun and engaging weekly music lessons. You will be teaching young children, organising small bands, and helping them learn different instruments. Ultimately you will help organise a talent show for the children to perform for friends and family at the end of term.

It is essential that you are organised, motivated, and driven. You excel when working independently and alongside a wider team, but most importantly you’re passionate about music and working with children!

This role is for the Oxford area.

Please note this role requires candidates to have a car.

Key responsibilities – Music Teacher

In this Music Teacher opportunity for graduates, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Completing research tasks and assisting with client searches
  • Delivering progressive and inclusive weekly music lessons in a rock and pop band setting
  • Teaching and inspiring children at primary schools in your area
  • Offering children their first opportunity of playing an instrument to develop their confidence, resilience, and wellbeing through performing in a band
  • Being a rock star role model, empowering and supporting children during their first live performances and beyond
  • Completing simple daily administrative tasks where required  

Job requirements – Music Teacher

  • Be a multi-instrumentalist – competent on at least 2 of: drums, guitar, keyboard, and vocals
  • A university degree achieving a 2.2 or above   
  • Self-motivated with a strong ability to multi-task  
  • Be passionate about teaching – experience is a bonus
  • Ability to work with young children
  • Be outgoing and confident
  • Previous work experience in an office or administrative environment is a bonus  
  • Fantastic written and verbal communication skills  
  • Highly organised and meticulous attention to detail  
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office
