Job description - Trainee Software Developer

In this Trainee Software Developer role, you will be a working member of the support team, which includes resolving customer issues and problems in an agreed timeframe. You will also be expected to produce specifications in relation to change request by customers, and to develop quality solutions to any change requests which meets the needs of the business and its customers. This role has multiple pathways available, chief among them pure programming and development!

Please note that candidates will be expected to commit to a blend of home/office working, with one day a week in office minimum. It is imperative you are based in North Wales/North West England, or committed to relocating for the right opportunity.

Key responsibilities - Trainee Software Developer

Your responsibilities in this Junior Support Developer job will include:

  • Working to design and implement technical solutions to support the core product development
  • Ticket management within the support team and responsible for meeting all customer SLA’s
  • Scoping, planning, specifying, testing, and delivering new and existing software features and releases
  • Adhering to best practices used within the development team
  • Ensuring that the current and proposed tech solutions follow the business policy

Job requirements - Trainee Software Developer

  • Technical background with a good degree in Engineering, Physics, IT, Mathematics, or equivalent

    experience
  • You will have robust and lengthy experience programming, ideally in Java
  • An appetite for hard work, taking initiative and being proactive in your own personal development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm, commitment, motivated self-starter, and team player.
  • Willingness to travel to customers sites world-wide.
