As Give A Grad A Go's Team Leader, I am responsible for leading a team of four Consultants and two Resourcers. It’s my job to make sure that my team are supported, getting all the help they need in order to grow within the business, as well as managing my own client base.

My area of expertise

My team and I work with clients within a huge array of sectors - including FinTech, Recruitment, FMCG and Retail to name a few. We are also building a solid client base within some emerging markets including MedTech, HealthTech, EdTech and InsurTech (everything tech!)

I came in to the office to discuss which graduate jobs might be right for me, and realised straight away that my ideal place to work would be somewhere like Give A Grad A Go. I’d started the job hunt looking at Marketing & Advertising roles, but soon realised that a role in Recruitment would offer me the exact opportunities I was looking for - networking with clients, being rewarded for hard work and chatting with graduates and clients on the phone. After spending 3 memorable hours in the office, Cary offered me a job and I accepted straight away! I’ve now been here for 3 years - and counting!

The worst job I've had

Every summer I worked on a local farm as a waitress. The role had it perks (lots of hefty bacon butties) - but mucking out the barns and the smell of manure really took its toll....

In this Team Assistant graduate job, you will be supporting the team on a diverse portfolio of accounts - comprised of prestigious London-listed clients with international operations. You will be taking on a range of responsibilities, including managing the office administration, day-to-day diary management and social media co-ordination across Twitter and Facebook. You’ll need to have excellent communication skills and a keen interest in investor and financial relations, as this entry-level role will allow you to gain invaluable experience across different teams, at one of the UK’s leading PR and marketing consultancies.

Key responsibilities

In this Team Assistant graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Answering the phone for the office, taking messages, setting up for meetings, and greeting clients and visitors
  • Organising the company diary and individual team members' / clients' schedules, booking travel, accommodation, venues, refreshments and couriers
  • Efficiently and appropriately handling incoming media enquiries or requests for information
  • Maintaining all of the office external contracts and purchasing of office supplies
  • Maintaining general documentation and assisting with updating / management of time-sensitive information and contact details
  • Managing the company’s social media accounts — Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Managing websites (both internal and on behalf of clients) to ensure that all online media is kept up to date
  • Maintaining the office, keeping tidy and organised and implementing procedures where necessary that will benefit the office
  • Collating press coverage and performing media monitoring exercises on behalf of clients
  • Setting-up and managing large conference calls for shareholders on behalf of clients
  • Maintaining external distribution lists and disseminating information using MailChimp
  • Inbox management for certain team members and other colleagues whilst on annual leave

So, what are we looking for?

  • A minimum of a 2.1 from a top university
  • A proactive can-do attitude
  • Fantastic organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both in the office and when representing the company
  • A real team player
  • Experience of managing and implementing social media strategies for corporate clients
  • Experience with WordPress would be beneficial but not necessary
