Job description - Systems Operations Engineer

In this Junior Operations Engineer role, you would be joining the core Systems team, responsible for the smooth running of the company infrastructure. This Systems Operations Engineer role for graduates is varied as the company grows, focusing on wide-ranging responsibilities, from automation and infrastructure support, to designing systems from scratch and gaining invaluable exposure to a wide range of Linux-based systems. Key responsibilities - Systems Operations Engineer

In this Junior Operations Engineer job for graduates, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance and deployment of Linux desktops and servers
  • Streamlining support through automation and process improvements, in order for the business to be able to operate efficiently at scale
  • Administration of network infrastructure
  • Handling a variety of projects including building virtual machine clusters using open-source technologies
  • Assisting with the development of configuration management
  • Always working to drive best practice standards, and where practical taking preference on open-source solutions

Job requirements - Systems Operations Engineer

  • Educated to degree level, with a minimum 2.1 result in a relevant technical discipline (Computer Science or similar)
  • You will be well versed with Linux, ideally with experience in advanced command-line functions
  • A real eagerness to learn and develop your skills in a startup environment
  • Ideally, experience with configuration management
  • Working knowledge of IP networking is advantageous
