Company profile - Sustainability & Biotechnology

In this Electrochemical Scientist role, you will be joining an exciting startup formed by one of the UK’s leading environmental & ethical recycling companies. Its mission is to pioneer a sustainable process in which metals can be extracted from redundant technology with little to no environmental impact.

Having recently brought in new investors to join the company, they are combining leading academic research with industry experience and infrastructure to bring their solution to market. Now off the ground, they are looking to grow out their research team with this exciting new hire.

Key responsibilities - Electrochemical Scientist

In this Electrochemical Scientist role, your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Gain a complete understanding of the product operation and workflow with hands-on experience
  • Participation in lab-based and industry experiments and interpretation of results
  • Engaging in quality improvement projects
  • Participate in the development of new products ideas, including supporting materials as well as feasibility testing
  • Validation and implementation of new products

Job requirements - Electrochemical Scientist

  • Educated to PhD level in Chemistry or similar, with experience or a deep understanding in electrowinning, ion exchange and cementation preferred
  • The passion to contribute and make a difference to sustainability or other areas of social and environmental change
  • Commercial acumen, someone ready to make that switch over from academia into a commercial endeavour
  • A self-starter, the ability to contribute and work well as part of a team but also able to work autonomously

Please note, this role is full-time onsite due to the nature of the work.
