Company profile - FMCG Consultancy

In this Business Development job, you will be joining the London office of a fast-growing market research and consumer insight consultancy, which operate mainly within the Hospitality sector. Working with some of the best-known names in the industry, this market research company are going from strength to strength.

Based in Crawley just a short train away from London, but working remotely 3 days a week, you will be working with clients to commercialise their hospitality portfolio which incorporates market-leading websites in addition to some of the biggest events in the industry.

Job description – Business Development Executive

In this Business Development Executive job, you will be responsible for developing new business, managing and building an extensive pipeline, and upselling existing accounts for the business’ market leading B2B food & drink trade exhibitions, as well as promoting other opportunities across the business’ portfolio.

You’ll develop a deep understanding of the UK food & drink industry and keep up to date with market trends. Achieving and maintaining high activity, including calls, emails, meetings, LinkedIn and face-to-face where required. You’ll also use account management skills to gain trust and build long-term relationships with customers.

Key responsibilities – Business Development Executive

In this Business Development Executive job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the UK food & drink industry. Keep up to date with market trends to understand our clients’ marketing requirements
  • Use account management skills to gain trust and build long-term relationships with customers
  • Create tailored proposals to sell exhibition space, sponsorship and digital opportunities to both existing clients and new business.
  • Achieve and maintain high activity, including calls, emails, meetings, LinkedIn and face-to-face where required
  • Achieve and surpass individual and team revenue targets
  • Maintain and build an existing sales pipeline and CRM system
  • Accurately report progress through weekly sales reports and forecast revenue projections
  • Attend exhibitions and competitor events to maintain relationships, expand the database and prospect for new business.

Job requirements – Business Development Executive

  • A university graduate, ideally with a 2.1
  • Experience in a sales role
  • Someone who is able to express information, opinion and argument
  • The ability to develop strong working relationships across all levels and all functions and show respect for the views and contributions of others
  • Be very consultative, yet demonstrate strong sales and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisational and self-management skills (this is a fast-paced and demanding role) and a proven ability to manage complexity
