The worst job I've had

I once worked in a milkshake shop, and it definitely did not bring all the boys to the yard. The mixture of summer, teenagers and milkshakes resulted in hours and hours of washing up - I was only trusted to make an actual milkshake after two months of being there!

Job description

In this Business Development Executive graduate job, you will be working as part of the new business technology team. The aim of the team is to generate new business sales for the company by building your network and generating leads. In this varied and challenging graduate sales role, you will be researching new opportunities, following up on warm leads, and helping the wider sales teams put together proposals.

Key responsibilities

In this Business Development Executive graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the senior sales teams with warm leads, proposal research and following up prospects.
  • Researching and growing your knowledge of the industry
  • Learning how to identify and develop the company’s USPs
  • Researching and creating proposals and quotes for new and existing clients
  • Helping to increase sales through a variety of opportunities such as campaigns and services
  • Widening your network through attending events and conferences, providing feedback and information on trends
  • Accurately managing the CRM and sales management systems

Job requirements

  • A graduate with either a background in technology or a keen interest in the area.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal!
  • Someone who is motivated and career-focused, as well as results-orientated
  • Experience within a sales environment is preferred but not necessary
  • A team player with an edge of competitiveness – potentially a sports person
