The worst job I've had

Before I worked at Give A Grad A Go, I did have a few interesting graduate jobs – probably the most challenging was working in the energy industry. It was interesting to learn about energy, but setting margins for huge corporate energy tenders was definitely a bit out of my comfort zone!

Job description

In this Project Manager job, you will play a critical role in managing the delivery of projects across the business. You’ll also be involved in day-to-day account management, as well as collaborating with other teams and key stakeholders across the business to identify areas for improvement. It’s essential that you are ambitious, adaptable, and have at least 1 years’ previous experience in a client-facing, sales or consultancy role – as you’ll be working on a huge range of tasks, and will be expected to take on a large amount of responsibility from day one.

Key responsibilities

In this Project Manager job, your responsibilities will include:

Project Management:

  • Delivering projects on-time and in budget
  • Continuously improving on deliverables
  • Presenting monthly reports on client accounts to senior management
  • Driving improvements in delivery effectiveness and efficiency

Managing key client accounts:

  • Partnering with a portfolio of global clients
  • Managing the seamless delivery of products and providing exceptional client service
  • Preparing monthly reports on account status and managing project budgets
  • Driving further business opportunities with existing partners

Supporting the wider team:

  • Collaborating with the sales team to identify and drive opportunities
  • Working with the Head of Operations on strategic projects and improvement initiatives
  • Studying the competition to find new ways to attract and retain clients
  • Representing the business at conferences, events or other marketing opportunities

So, what are we looking for?

  • A minimum of a 2.1 from a top university
  • 1+ year’s previous experience in a client facing, sales or consultancy-based role
  • Strong analytical skills, with the confidence to analyse basic data using Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A sharp attention to detail
  • The confidence to work autonomously
