Job description

In this Graduate Operations role in London, you will be joining the company's operations department, taking responsibility for vessel operations and logistics, and ensuring that all quotas are met. This role has been created in order to maintain and further enhance the excellent client services the company is founded upon. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for international travel and will be expected to work the odd weekend. The ideal candidate for the role will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced working environment, and will need to be exceptionally well organised.

Key responsibilities

In this Junior Operations Executive job in London, your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking responsibility for vessel operations, including co-ordination of cargo movement
  • Regularly interacting with domestic and international clients ensuring all requirement are met
  • Maintaining daily contact with vessels and reporting vessel movements
  • Helping to identify and implement improvements in operations
  • Ensure accurate and regular information is provided to all parties, both external clients and internal departments.
  • Compile and distribute daily operations reports and participate in daily handover meetings.
  • Various administrative duties, including sending daily updates to clients, documentation, data entry and clerical assistance

Job requirements

  • At least a 2.1 from a top university
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Confidence to act autonomously and decisively in high pressured environments
  • Strong time management skills
  • Stellar working knowledge of Microsoft Office package
  • Ideally previous experience of working within the shipping and commodities world, but this is not a pre-requisite.
