Our client is a Tech startup backed by a leading European Commercial Real Estate Asset Manager, building out a debt marketplace to help connect sponsors and lenders in the £5M+ space. They work with banks, debt funds, and insurance companies on the lending side, and professional CRE sponsors on the borrower side, across Europe. As a result, they manage a wide range of clients, and due to the relationship focus within Commercial Real Estate, there is a key need to build strong and meaningful relationships with each client. Supporting and helping onboard clients who are not always tech-savvy, will be a key part. Operations Associate - Job description

In your role as Operations Associate, you will own the day-to-day management of operations, act as the lead on operational workstreams and who will identify process automation opportunities and efficiencies across the business. This will work towards the team goal of ensuring best-in-class scalable operations that support our growth targets. You will have 360 oversite of business operations. This includes everything from the business toolset (Zoho One) we have deployed across the business, work closely with finance to ensure we manage our burn rate and ensuring we have accurate data on client usage and fees (billing process). You will be responsible for building internal processes and making sure they are fit for purpose, championing their use across the business to enable the company to grow effectively and efficiently.

Operations Associate - Key responsibilities

  • building and managing client billing/reporting system
  • automating client invoicing to reduce people time spent on this task every month
  • attaining ISO certification / Regulatory permissions
  • business process automation across our business apps and systems
  • integrating the CRM with other business apps / the company platform
  • setting standards & controls and governing data across the business

Operations Associate – Job requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in an Operations or Business Management role, ideally in a startup environment
  • 2:1 from University
  • Previous exposure to finance - ideally previous experience in accounting, cashflow or similar
  • Able to lead a workstream / prioritise tasks effectively
  • Advanced Excel skills - the prospect of analysing Big Data must excite you!
  • German language skills are a bonus, but not essential.
