I initially used Give A Grad A Go to help me find a job. I got to the final stages of lots of jobs, but nothing was quite the right fit for me. When I came in to talk to some of the Consultants here, one of them suggested that I come and interview here! I hadn’t considered graduate jobs in recruitment before, but upon careful consideration I thought that it would be an excellent chance for me to develop myself, as well as help out graduates who are going through exactly what I was.

The worst job I've had

I wouldn't say that I have had any really terrible jobs thankfully! However there have certainly been some tough moments that have not been too much fun. The closest I have come to quitting is when I worked on a sheep farm in Australia. It was the middle of summer, about 40 degrees and we were working in the wool shed. The roof was corrugated iron and only made it hotter - after a few hours of hard physical work I had definitely had enough!

Job description

In this Business Development Executive graduate job, you will be joining an already established sales team, and will be assigned a designated territory. Your aim will be to contribute to the new acquisition of clients, by pitching, demo-ing the platform to secondary schools, colleges and universities, and ultimately taking the current 1,800 subscriber number to 10,000 over the next few years. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and driven graduate to join a growing business with a clear corporate and social mission, a world-class team of sector and functional specialists, and a widely successful sales team.

Key responsibilities

In this Business Development Executive job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Meeting and exceeding revenue targets
  • Managing the end-to-end sales process from cold call to close, including prospecting / generating leads
  • Setting up clients on the back-end
  • Meeting challenging daily, weekly and monthly KPIs
  • Accurate reporting of sales pipelines

So, what are we looking for?

  • A university degree
  • Proven experience and success of inside sales / delivering sales over the phone
  • Someone who is used to a high-call volume environment
  • Experience of owning the entire sales cycle – including researching and prospecting your own leads, pitching, negotiating, and closing
  • A real self-starter, who is highly motivated
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Outstanding communication skills – particularly active listening and compelling, persuasive written and verbal communication
  • High energy and commitment to the role

  • A great starting salary of between 25,000 - 30,000 basic with OTE of 40k (but uncapped!)
