In this Retail Management Graduate Scheme in Newcastle, you will be joining a market-leading and award-winning (listed in the 50 fastest growing companies across Yorkshire) independently owned insulation supplier. Since their foundation, they have spread across the UK with 8 branches located from Sheffield, Birmingham to London employing just shy of 200 staff. They’re looking to bring on a Graduate to help grow and develop a newly opening 9th office in the North East Branch in Newcastle.

Job description

In this Operations Graduate Scheme in Newcastle, you will be kicking off your career as they launch their new branch in Newcastle servicing the North East. In this Graduate scheme, you’ll be learning retail operations excellence and be heavily involved in the opening and development of a new branch with exposure to all elements of the branch. Within this role you’ll find yourself more often than not in a hi-vis jacket and boots rather than a suit and tie, with direct involvement across warehouse operations to sales, customer service, product knowledge, stock control, logistics, supply chain and customer service. This scheme is designed to teach you all aspects of Retail Operations Management.

Key Responsibilities

In this Rotational Graduate Scheme, your responsibilities will include:

  • You will get the opportunity to be exposed to all elements of branch operations
  • Direct involvement, operation, growth and development of their new branch
  • you will gain a wide range of skills and experience through continuous on the job development with coaching and mentoring
  • Within the branch and beyond you will learn everything from warehouse operations to sales, customer service, product knowledge, stock control, logistics, supply chain and customer service.
  • You will also need to use and understand our ERP system and how our central accounting works.

Job Requirements

  • A 2.1 from a good university, a degree in Business Management or Construction related discipline are desirable
  • Solution orientated with the ability to problem-solve with others as well as contribute with your own ideas in discussions
  • You’ll naturally be driven, persistent, resilient and humble
  • You’re a genuine team player and will go above and beyond to support your colleagues
  • You have an innate sense of responsibility and are happy to work independently and support others
  • Any previous experience of working within the construction or building industry would be advantageous
