Job description - Regulatory Affairs Officer

In this Regulatory Affairs job in Shropshire, you will have a huge impact on the new food products that this global FMCG company are responsible for. You will take on a variety of responsibilities that will work to ensure that product specifications are completed accurately, with legal and due diligence requirements being met. You will approve final ideas involving artwork, packaging and labelling, as well as getting involved on the technical side and in Research and Development.

Key responsibilities - Regulatory Affairs Officer

In this Regulatory Affairs Associate job in Telford, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring finished product specifications are completed accurately, meeting due diligence requirements and in compliance with legal requirements
  • Approving the finished product label artwork against agreed pack copy, ensuring all legal labelling requirements are met
  • Supporting the Group Technical Quality Management and document control systems
  • Providing support for Group Technical BRC/third party audits
  • Managing and developing the Due Diligence system as part of the R&D process, and support relevant teams to use it effectively
  • Being a technical point of contact for the internal consumer care team and ensure technical information is up to date and relevant
  • Managing the Technical Documents e-mail inbox and respond to technical queries and documentation requests
  • Supporting Group Technical & Compliance reporting requirements, as necessary
  • Deputising for Specification & Legal Labelling Manager and Technical Systems Manager, if required

Job requirements - Regulatory Affairs Officer

  • An academic background in Food, Food Technology, Science or Mathematics
  • Previous experience in the food industry is necessary - ideally 1-2 years
  • Able to demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal - you will be writing specifications.
  • Excellent IT skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office - experience in other systems such as Salesforce is beneficial
  • Experience in retailer specification systems is beneficial
  • Able to understand and effectively implement food law and labelling requirements into the specification and legal labelling process
  • Able to demonstrate well-developed analytical skills combined with the ability to present detailed information clearly and succinctly to Senior Management
  • Fantastic organisation and ability to prioritise tasks and autonomously manage your workload
  • Confidence in training others
