The worst job I've had

By far, the worst job I've had was working as a hotel bartender, while my colleagues and the guests were lovely the same could not be said for my manager. He was generally horrible to all of us and actually threw a chair at me once. Plus, I was working a 55 hour week which was pretty terrible.

Job description

In this Sales Executive graduate job, you will be introduced into the world of freight, as you support a number of business unites and learn how to provide your clients with the best-in-class service. Day to day, you will be supporting the commercial division by helping to manage the sales funnel within the business development team – involving problem solving, new lead generation and streamlining supply chains. You’ll need to be highly adaptable and consistently professional, as your role will see you working with a real range of clients – in both lead generation and customer support. As is the case in most startups, no two days will ever be the same, and your role will vary quickly depending on the priority of the funnel.

Key responsibilities

In this Sales Executive graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working with the sales team to understand the sales funnel, where each client sits in the funnel and apply the internal playbooks to win over clients
  • Collaborating with the internal teams to create new strategies that convince the audience and construct solutions to problems
  • Meticulously managing the sales funnel, keeping up to date with the progress of client relationships and maintaining the cadence of client communication
  • Being responsible for new lead creation, booking in demos and meeting with cold clients

  • Working in a 1:1 partnership with Client Partners & Senior Client Partners
