Job Description - Policy Executive

In this Policy Officer role in London, you will work within the Policy and Public Affairs team - part of the External Affairs directorate. You will contact MPs’ offices, government departments, and other third-sector organisations to ensure wide-ranging engagement and support for two of our major national projects from policymakers and professionals. While the majority of this role will allow you to work from home, you will be expected to work from the London office on at least a monthly basis, as well as at other key moments of the year.

Key Responsibilities - Policy Executive

  • You will be responsible for ensuring all the logistic information collected from policymakers is communicated to the booking teams
  • Assisting with Parent Zone’s wider policy and public affairs
  • Contributing to research papers
  • Drafting responses to parliamentary consultations
  • Developing an understanding of the issues and risks which affect children and families in the digital age.
  • Having close contact with high profiles and local MPs

Job Requirements - Policy Executive

  • 1 degree or above from university
  • 1-year experience working in policy creation or working with MPs
  • An understanding of political ecosystem
  • Able to work well in a team and independently
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Confident on the phone and able to accurately record crucial information
  • Great eye for detail
  • Comfortable working in a project with multiple elements to organize
  • Resilient, keen, and enthusiastic
