As a Key Account Manager, I work with some of Give A Grad A Go's larger clients, placing graduates who are looking to break into the Banking & Finance or FinTech sphere.

My area of expertise

I work with such a huge a variety of clients that it's hard to pinpoint my particular area of expertise! But I particularly enjoy finding graduates a job they love in an area they hadn't originally thought about.

I was comletely blown away by the team, work ethic and job opportunities - I quickly decided I wanted in! After friendly team drinks, I was invited on board - 2 years later I'm loving working with some of the coolest clients in the market! The worst job I've had

My worst job has to be when I was a security guard at a (now in administration) shoe warehouse. At 5"3 it was pretty bleak. My months' trial resulted in more shoes being stolen than ever before.

In this Junior Account Manager graduate job, you will be working within the fast growing account management team, taking on responsibility for managing client liaison and relationship building. Working closely with your book of clients, you will also be tasked with writing detailed weekly insight reports and reporting back on your conclusions. Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to self-motivate are key, as you will be pivotal in increasing your suppliers’ performance, and ensuring the product is being used to the best of its ability.

Key responsibilities

In this Junior Account Manager graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with core partners to understand their core needs, recommending best practices, and developing effective strategies
  • Creating, developing, enhancing and managing client relationships and managing through conflict, driving groups to collective business decisions
  • Handling any questions or complaints in relation to the platform – ensuring that all parties are getting the most from the tools
  • Effectively optimising business strategy by analysing performance and recommending adjustments to key performance drivers
  • Relaying your finding to senior management – making recommendations as to how internal and external process could be improved
  • Contributing to digital campaigns to monitor and improves success metrics

So, what are we looking for?

  • A 2.1 or above from a top university
  • Commercial experience in client focused roles- this could be anything from an internship to 2 years of experience
  • A real people person – you can build rapport with anyone and everyone!
  • The ability to work in a reactive start-up environment
  • Working knowledge of Zendesk or other CRM tools would be a real plus
  • Basic maths knowledge - the ability to work with percentages and numbers

  • Explaining the R&D tax Credits scheme to developers / CTO's / wider technology teams and guiding them through the process
  • Finalising technical reports
  • Updating and changing company policies to speed up delivery process
  • Gaining a deep understanding of funding schemes and government funding options

So, what are we looking for?

  • A university degree, ideally in Engineering or Science
  • Experience within engineering and science, outside of academic (e.g. work experience or a placement year in this field)
  • Confident speaking about all things tech
  • Previous experience with liaising with developers / CTO's about technical aspects
  • A strong rapport-builder with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A confident, independent self-starter who loves finding new ways of engaging clients
  • Confidence working with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organisational skills - you must be able to efficiently work across multiple projects
  • Experience with negotiations and contract management
