My current role within Give A Grad A Go is as a Recruitment Consultant for the Corporate Desk. I work mostly on technology and digital graduate jobs, often within emerging markets like FinTech, PropTech and EdTech.

My area of expertise

The Corporate Desk works predominantly within the financial realm, but often in combination with innovative, high-growth indsutries like FinTech and InsurTech. I work on a range of graduate jobs within these industries - from IT roles to Business Development and Project Manager graduate jobs - meaning that I get to speak to a number of very different candidates on a daily basis!

The worst job I've had

I can honestly say that I've been lucky enough to have enjoyed every one of my previous roles - from working over the summer at McDonald's after my A-Levels, to leading a team and training at new cafe openings within M&S, I have worked with some amazing people and look back fondly at every experience.

In this IT Support Coordinator graduate job, you will be working closely with the IT Director to ensure the smooth running of all things IT and facilities-related across the business. You will provide IT assistance to a range of teams within the agency - whether it be setting up a machine for a new starter, preparing the AV equipment for a client meeting, or updating new systems and software. You will need to have a good technical grounding, including a degree in an IT-related discipline, as this varied role will require you to provide exceptional hardware and software support.

Key responsibilities

In this IT Support Coordinator graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up new machines for staff in all departments
  • Maintaining and updating IT systems that automate build processes
  • Providing both hardware and software support
  • Maintaining AV suites in meeting rooms, and setting up AV at events
  • Maintaining stock levels of print, consumables and peripherals
  • Ensuring maximum availability of computer systems throughout the agency
  • Administering telephone systems – both mobile and traditional
  • Taking responsibility for the IT hardware and software, including their maintenance
  • Assisting in building and maintaining a definitive log of all equipment and software currently used in the business
  • Researching and evaluating new technologies
  • Familiarising yourself with the building infrastructure
  • Capturing and recording issues with building infrastructure - including, networking, lighting, and building management system
  • Liaising with the IT Director and Finance team when actioning remedies and fixes for building and tenants

So, what are we looking for?

  • A 2.1 degree in a IT-related discipline
  • Exceptional communication skills, in order to explain complex IT issues to non-technical colleagues
  • Knowledge of both Mac and PC functionality
  • Experience managing IT systems in a working environment or the propensity to learn
  • A broad understanding of computer systems, applications and operating systems
  • An interest in the creative sector

  • Updating retail reports daily using Excel to ensure information is accurate
  • Working with warehouses to ensure that orders are fulfilled in a timely manner, and all systems are up to date with correct inventory
  • Understanding and being able to interpret stock availability to the Business Development team
  • Sourcing, tracking and shipping information for dispatched orders
  • Requesting and comparing shipping quotes for international and domestic orders
  • Effectively communicating requests of the Business Development team to warehouse logistics experts
  • Providing order status updates to clients
  • Assisting team in investigating issues related to dispatched orders
  • Collating documentation and information to arrange shipments (booking forms, dimensions, certificates and invoices)
  • Ensuring effective communication between the UK and China teams
  • Managing all daily processing of manual orders and invoicing, ensuring payments are scheduled in a timely manner

So, what are we looking for?

  • A 2.1 degree from a top university, ideally in a STEM subject
  • An Excel whizz with experience compiling reports and models from various sources - VBA experience would be a huge plus!
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Previous experience in startup environments is preferable – a burning desire to learn all you can about building a brand in an exciting industry is essential!
  • Experience in managing external stakeholders is desirable
  • Experience and exposure to mainstream e-commerce applications (WooCommerce, Shopify, Shipstation, Pipedrive, Salesforce, PowerBI and Xero) and Order Management systems is desirable
