Why I chose to work at Give A Grad A Go

I came to Give A Grad A Go as a graduate 4 years ago in the hope of finding a role within Marketing & Advertising or PR & Communications in London. It quickly became clear that what I was really looking for was a chance to communicate with these industries rather than work within them. I was really sold by the Give A Grad A Go culture and opportunity to develop quickly and build up an exciting portfolio of clients I could manage. There's nothing more rewarding than helping graduates find their dream job and helping a company build their teams with hard-working graduates.

The worst job I've had

I found myself working in the energy industry before I worked at Give A Grad A Go. It was really interesting to learn more about energy, but setting margins for huge corporate energy tenders felt a little bit out of my comfort zone!

In this Junior HR Advisor graduate job, you will be responsible for looking after the HR advice customers in order to understand their businesses, challenges and HR requirements. You’ll be providing support on a daily basis via live chat and over the phone – so exceptional communication skills are key. You will need to have a thorough understanding of modern and current HR best practices, as you will be influencing and providing advice on how to improve these practices within other businesses.

Key responsibilities

In this Junior HR Advisor graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Communicating with customers via live chat and phone to understand their challenges and provide insight
  • Helping to build best in class policies and contracts for customers
  • Keeping customers and the team up to date with the latest changes in HR policy and law
  • Looking for ways to influence customers’ HR strategy
  • Input into wider product decisions across the company
  • Supporting the HR team with administrative tasks on a daily basis

  • Educated to degree level, ideally with a minimum of a 2.1
  • Previous proven experience in a heavily administrative role
  • Any experience in an HR environment would be an added bonus
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • A real passion for the startup industry and an active interest in how small businesses operate and grow
