I originally applied for a role through Give A Grad A Go, but after speaking to the team and coming in to interview, I found that I loved the friendly environment in the office and decided that it was definitely the place I wanted to work! 

The worst job I've had

My worst job was definitely my paper round that I stuck out for a solid two years! It was a 40 minute walk every day after school (and on Saturdays!) with a bag nearly as big as me. I did so much after school that my poor Mum usually ended up being the paper girl at least once a week.

Job description

In this Account Manager job, you will be responsible for leading and managing relationships with a wide portfolio of hospitality and retail clients. You will be building relationships from the initial onboarding meeting, to securing repeat business through making sure that all of their insights are analysed and effectively communicated. Relationship building is crucial in a startup, and you will be on hand to help with anything from help using the app, issues with a student or even if they just want a chat!

Key responsibilities

In this Account Manager graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a full understanding of the needs of your clients - developing relationships and continually adding value, proactively offering insightful ways that they can make the process more efficient.
  • Delivering exceptional service - providing support which adds value to the client’s business and drives positive renewal decisions
  • Going out to client meetings, demonstrating how the app works and onboarding clients fully.
  • Responding to client enquiries and problem solving in a quick and professional manner.

Job requirements

  • A 2:1 degree as a minimum from a good university
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Confident and outgoing – you will be required to train and onboard new clients which may involve presenting to a number of people.
  • The ability to develop strong working relationships across all levels and all functions and show respect for views and contribution of others
  • The capability to interpret data and turn it into insight to provide the client with new knowledge and expertise
  • Excellent organisational and self-management skills with a strong work ethic (this is a fast paced and demanding role, at times, you will need to be flexible in your working hours)

Key responsibilities

In this Account Executive graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working in a 1:1 partnership with Client Partners & Senior Client Partners
  • Driving sales activity and building sales funnels in order to hit monthly KPIs
  • Providing solutions from the product range that fit client requirements
  • Providing feedback on market trends and competitor activity
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records on Salesforce to manage the sales pipeline, quote and order entry, drive customer communication and enable activity reporting
  • Supporting the sales team in developing detailed account plans to establish forecasts of anticipated revenue
  • Appointing customer meetings in line with agreed activity targets
  • As experience in the role develops, you will independently manage a small number of accounts, as directed by the Line Manager

Job requirements

  • A minimum of a 2.1 from a top university
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry would be a huge advantage
  • A punchy, competitive and sparky individual who is keen to start their career in sales
  • Fantastic attention to detail – you will be working with very important data and need to ensure your eye for detail is tip-top
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a large, complex global account team
  • Exceptional communication skills and customer focus, with the ability to gain a thorough understanding of the customer needs
  • The ability to construct and deliver effective presentations both internally and externally
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or other comparable CRM applications
  • The desire to drive solution-related discussions with customers
