As Give A Grad A Go's Team Leader, I am responsible for leading a team of four Consultants and two Resourcers. It’s my job to make sure that my team are supported, getting all the help they need in order to grow within the business, as well as managing my own client base.

My area of expertise

My team and I work with clients within a huge array of sectors - including FinTech, Recruitment, FMCG and Retail to name a few. We are also building a solid client base within some emerging markets including MedTech, HealthTech, EdTech and InsurTech (everything tech!)

The worst job I've had

Every summer I worked on a local farm as a waitress. The role had it perks (lots of hefty bacon butties) - but mucking out the barns and the smell of manure really took its toll....

Job description

In this Account Manager job, you will be expected to quickly gain a deep understanding of various funding schemes, and get stuck in helping clients to get the best out of the service on offer. You will need to be both personable and professional, as you’ll be working with founders and directors from some of the most exciting startups in the UK – learning about their technology advancements and funding challenges. A real passion for technology is a must - as you will be concentrating on gaining an in-depth knowledge of your tech clients and how they can expand.

Key responsibilities

In this Account Manager job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Liaising with the most innovative software startups and scale ups in the UK
  • Gaining a deep understanding of funding schemes and government funding options
  • Liaising with founders and directors of tech-startups to understand their technology advancements and funding challenges
  • Researching the market and keeping up to date with industry trends
  • Liaising with clients face-to-face, over the phone and in-person
  • Tracking customer success metrics and provide weekly reports for the account management team
  • Project managing and ensuring that projects are delivered within the correct timescale

So, what are we looking for?

  • A university degree, ideally in a technical, finance-based or law discipline
  • At least 2+ years’ experience post university within account management within the technology sector
  • Previous experience within a technology startup
  • A strong rapport-builder with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A confident, independent self-starter who loves finding new ways of engaging clients
  • Confidence working with minimal supervision
  • Excellent organisational skills - you must be able to efficiently work across multiple projects
  • Experience with negotiations and contract management

What else is on offer?

  • A highly competitive starting salary of between 28,000 - 38,000
  • A flexible approach to work - while this role will require you to attend face to face meetings, your time outside of those meetings can be as remote as you like
