The worst job I've had

By far, the worst job I've had was working as a hotel bartender, while my colleagues and the guests were lovely the same could not be said for my manager. He was generally horrible to all of us and actually threw a chair at me once. Plus, I was working a 55 hour week which was pretty terrible.

Job Description

In this graduate Senior Account Manager job, you’ll learn all about the industries surrounding high-growth companies and how to meet our clients' needs. Working in Brixton alongside a fantastic team, your goal will be to keep every subscriber happy and maximise the value they get from the company for many years to come. You’ll be integral to the future of the company, spotting opportunities for growth and communicating user feedback to help design the next strategy plan.

Key Responsibilities

In this Senior Account Manager graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Training subscribers to use our online platform
  • Hitting renewal and retention targets and responding to complex queries
  • Spotting opportunities to up-sell or cross-sell (for instance, to sell additional features or our consultancy services)
  • Building and maintaining long-term relationships with subscribers
  • Keeping up to date with and communicating new feature releases
  • Communicating user feedback to our product development team and the rest of the company
  • Leading & supporting junior team members in their development
  • Contributing to strategic planning at a team and company level

Job requirements

  • A 2:1 from a top University
  • 1-2 years’ experience in an Account Manager position (preferably within tech or related industries)
  • Experience in a customer/client facing position (customer service, hospitality etc.)
  • An organised graduate with an excellent telephone manner and written communication skills
  • The desire to meet and exceed measurable performance goals and contribute to the wider company strategy
  • An approachable, supportive, proactive individual with strong team-working skills and commercial awareness
  • An interest in tech or SaaS and keen to learn about the high-growth sector
