In this role as a Business Development Manager, you will be joining a hugely influential company in the life science industry, growing its international network of events and conferences aimed at senior decision-makers and executives.

Since starting in 2014, they have been making big strides in providing domestic and cross-border opportunities for startups through to publicly-listed companies, pharma/commercial leaders, and the wider investment community. They are now looking for a new member of their Sales team to further grow their portfolio.

Job description - Business Development Manager

You will initially be responsible for selling delegate passes and showcase presentations across the company's flagship events. You’ll work on a mixture of long-running, industry-leading, repeat events and 1 or 2 of their exciting launches. If you’re successful, the role will quickly provide a fast track to sponsorship sales opportunities and you’ll receive full training in this regard.

Key responsibilities - Business Development Manager

In this Business Development role your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Sell delegate passes on our industry-leading flagship events and exciting launch projects
  • Sell showcase presentations on our pitch and partnering event held in partnership with Jefferies Investment Bank
  • Attendance at face-to-face sales opportunities during UK and international events
  • 50:50 mixture of new and repeat business
  • Clear fast-track route into sponsorship Sales if successful
  • Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Business Development

Job requirements - Business Development Manager

  • 2:1 or above from a top university
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously
  • Keen and eager for sales!
  • Proactive, adaptable, and happy working in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable with face-to-face selling
  • Someone looking for a fast-track route to sponsorship Sales
  • Able to demonstrate a track record of hitting and exceeding personal or professional goals/targets - desirable
  • Commercial awareness/acumen
  • Minimum 6-12 months experience in a commercial or corporate environment - ideally in sales but not essential
