Job description

In this graduate Sales job in London, you will be joining the core function of the business, the Sales & Partnerships team, with the aim of growing and maintaining potential relationships with new clients. You will be at the forefront of commercial efforts, where your hard-work, grit and hustle will have a direct impact on company revenue. You will need to be determined, motivated and resilient, as you will be playing a key role in this retail-tech start-up’s huge growth plans for 2021. You’ll be working at the very front of the business, taking ownership of building their client base in specific sectors and markets.

This might be ‘fashion retailers in the UK’, ‘convenience stores in North America’, or ‘inventory management providers’ across multiple markets. They’ve got playbooks to get you started, and you’ll be using plenty of your own creativity and tenacity to find the best way to open up new clients and markets. Nurturing warm-leads and conducting your own outreach, you’ll become a drier of key-growth at the heart of the business.

Key responsibilities

In this Graduate Sales opportunity in London, your responsibilities will include:

  • Owning your own retail category, and developing a deep understanding of these organisations through market research
  • Engaging with warm leads and nurturing early-stage relationships with clients
  • Build your own pipeline, bring on new business and sign up new clients to their platform using their fantastic CRM tools
  • Build partnerships in the retail technology eco-system
  • Qualifying leads and becoming a first point of contact
  • Educate the market, generate awareness, challenge perceptions
  • Engage with prospective clients through emails, calls, networking and research
  • Developing your pitch structure - being able to uncover prospective clients needs and introduce an innovative solution that adds tangible value
  • Deliver marketing material and product insight to prospects while establishing a trusting relationship with key stakeholders

Job requirements

  • A highly driven, enthusiastic and charismatic attitude
  • A degree from university is beneficial, or demonstrable experience in Business Development
  • Experience in Business Development, Recruitment or a Sales-based role is ideal
  • A clear desire to work in a sale based role and a passion for tech or SaaS platforms
  • A passion for retail-tech and for making a difference within the retail market
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Growth mindset; not afraid to try new approaches, turning mistakes or failures into a learning opportunity
  • A self-motivated person who thrives in a start-up environment. Entrepreneurial attitude and approach.
  • Someone who is highly target-driven and possesses a results-orientated work ethic
