Job description

In this Business Development Executive job, you will be expected to quickly gain an understanding of both small and major retailers operating within the lifestyle sector. You will be working with existing clients to manage their accounts, securing attendance for future events, upselling event space, sourcing new opportunities and finding prospective clients to attend the events. You will need to possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, as you’ll be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle.

Key responsibilities

In this Business Development Executive job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Speaking with prospects over the phone and via email
  • Managing the accounts of existing clients and securing re-bookings
  • Identifying new prospects and showing initiative by proactively reaching out to new clients
  • Building relationships and demonstrating a highly professional standard of communication
  • Demonstrating a detailed knowledge of clients’ business needs and industry knowledge throughout all stages of the process
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Managing your own sales pipeline
  • Assisting with on-site event preparation and execution of the event by working with the event team
  • Supporting the sales team with any ad-hoc duties

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience working within a sales-based role
  • A 2.1 from a top university
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
  • Confidence in liaising with stakeholders of various levels of seniority and across multiple industries
