In this Commercial Surveyor role, you will be joining an established British business that operates liner shipping services. Based in London and with a global reach, they run a fleet of ships and HGV lorries focusing on international markets and offering bespoke door-to-door service for a wide variety of clientele.

Alongside this arm of the business sits a private property portfolio, which currently includes commercial office blocks across the UK (most specifically Liverpool, London, and Hull) with a residential conversion in the South and two Golf Courses. As a Commercial Surveyor, your focus will naturally be on the property wing of the business.

Job description – Commercial Surveyor

In this hugely sought-after Commercial Surveyor role in London, you will be responsible for the effective management and maintenance of a carefully selected property portfolio which spans the UK. This is a highly varied role and will allow the successful candidate to liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities – Commercial Surveyor

In this Commercial Surveyor job in London, your responsibilities will include:

  • You will be tasked with operating a full range of property management instructions on a variety of commercial properties, including offices, retail, leisure, and industrial
  • Ensuring the management of rental and service charge budgets
  • Providing support and assistance to clients for a variety of reasons but specifically to discuss renewal programmes concerning rent reviews and lettings
  • Reporting to and working with clients on tenure and physical improvements to properties
  • Dealing with tenant applications and responding in a timely manner
  • Ensuring properties are inspected and standards are kept high on our client’s portfolio
  • Ensuring tenants’ compliance with lease obligations
  • Preparation and administration of service charge expenditure
  • Overseeing the provision of common services to properties and tenants.
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation including Health and Safety and other regulations
  • Assisting clients in the acquisition and disposal of properties

Job requirements – Commercial Surveyor

  • RICS qualified is an essential requirement for this role
  • Commercial experience within the commercial property sphere – with proven examples of helping to manage a property portfolio
  • Strong communication skills – you are confident speaking with a wide variety of professionals from Tenants to core stakeholders
  • Confidence to act autonomously and decisively in high pressured environments
  • Strong time management skills
  • Stellar working knowledge of Microsoft Office package
  • A genuine excitement for owning the property portfolio
  • A strong team player, with an interest in uplifting others along the way
