In this PR Assistant graduate job, you will be joining a company who were founded in 2005, and have grown to become the food and drinks sector's chosen channel of communication with the media. The site connects over 1000 PR & and marketing professionals with over 2000 journalists. Their site allows PRs to submit press releases, images, videos and other media information, and respond to journalists breaking requests for information. They have built up an extensive client list, including; various top 20 brands such as Waitrose, Tesco, Sainsbury's, Muller, Parmigiano Reggiano, Rainforest Alliance, and Yeo Valley.

Job description

In this PR Assistant role, you will be taking on a varied list of responsibilities; including sourcing content from journalists, for which a bonus scheme applies, and managing content submitted by journalists and PR professionals. Managing and approving content daily is key, together with daily proactive phone-based outreach to encourage journalists to register and post enquiries (journalist alerts). Targets will be set for deliverables such as number of calls per day, number of new journalists publishing journalist alerts, and the total number of journalist alerts published each month; so you must be happy working towards targets.

Key responsibilities

In this PR Assistant graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Sole responsibility for liaison with journalist users
  • Daily phone outreach to journalists, registering them to the sites and encouraging them to post content
  • Working towards targets based on levels of Journalist Alerts and on new users post
  • Checking and approving uploaded Journalist Alerts, press releases, stories, images video and other inbound content
  • Ensuring perfect presentation of content on the sites and on alert emails
  • Attending industry events and our own events

Job requirements

  • A minimum of a 2:1 from a top university
  • A personable, energetic and professional graduate who is happy to work to targets
  • Incredible communication skills
  • A fantastic phone manner and immaculate attention to detail
  • Someone who is quick, capable and determined
