Job description - Events Manager

As an Events Manager, you'll be working on both internal and external events, overseeing events from conception through to completion. You will work closely with others in the company to identify their needs and ensure each event is run to a high standard. The goal is to organise unforgettable events that will ensure an accurate representation of the company brand, the satisfaction of attendees and facilitate the completion of business objectives.

In this Events Management role, the ideal candidate will have a calm and level head and the skills necessary to manage several projects at once and maintain the highest level of attention to detail when under pressure. Being a natural team player, you will have a knack for building relationships and collaborating seamlessly with everyone you work with. You must be able to work independently and manage your time responsibly.

Key responsibilities - Events Manager

In this Events Manager job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing events from conception through to completion with a high standard throughout
  • Working closely with stakeholders within the company to identify the many requirements for each event
  • Researching and booking suitable venues, catering and suppliers
  • Providing logistical support for external events where the company is presenting
  • Working with key stakeholders to submit external event applications
  • Tracking events and projects key performance areas and identifying items to work on in the future
  • Negotiating with vendors and suppliers to achieve the most favourable terms
  • Ensuring all personal data is handled within GDPR guidelines
  • Keeping project stakeholders informed and on track
  • Writing effective content to help keep clients and delegates informed

Job requirements - Events Manager

  • A minimum of a 2.1 from university
  • Minimum 1 year experience as Events/Project Coordinator
  • Experience in workshop facilitation and/or presenting is preferable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent vendor and supplier management skills
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability
  • Well-organised with great multi-tasking skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Ability to work independently
