Job description

In this Business Development Executive graduate job, your aim will be to maximise revenue from a variety of both established and new business clients - in print, online and at events across the B2C portfolio. You will be growing your knowledge of the publishing industry, as well as managing one or more portfolios with the support and training from the Group Advertising Manager. You will need to be confident, ambitious and an exceptional communicator – as your role will be integral to helping grow the business.

Key responsibilities

In this Business Development Executive graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Attending key industry events and client meetings
  • Growing your knowledge of the publishing industry and key advertising markets
  • Liaising with production, finance and account management teams to ensure the smooth running of your projects
  • Sourcing and closing leads (both established and new business)
  • Identifying new areas for lead generation and sales growth
  • Preparing and maintaining pipelines and reports of your prospects for the Sales Manager

Job requirements

  • A degree from a good university
  • An interest in the publishing industry
  • Target-driven work ethic
  • Excellent relationship-building skills
  • A strong communicator, both written and over the phone
  • A proactive and confident approach
  • A willingness to learn and investigate new training and development courses to broaden knowledge
