The worst job I've had

I once worked in a milkshake shop, and it definitely did not bring all the boys to the yard. The mixture of summer, teenagers and milkshakes resulted in hours and hours of washing up - I was only trusted to make an actual milkshake after two months of being there!

In this Media Analyst graduate job, you will be focusing on the performance of media buying - using your critical and analytical skills to understand their successes and failures. You will be working on their advertising forecasts for intelligent trading as well as project managing differing market forecasts. Your role will play a key part in the commercial success of the company, and will require an analytical mind who enjoys working across reporting and strategy to really excel.

Key responsibilities

In this Media Analyst graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the daily management of internal communication and delivering timely reporting of the markets
  • Copying and editing reports to ensure they are fully coherent.
  • Learning and participating in internal and auditor meetings
  • Working to establish strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and local teams
  • Researching and learning from local markets, identifying similarities differences between trading and buying across borders
  • Using your analytical skills to create accurate reporting work, numerically working out inflation, media costs and revenue generating clients.
  • Working with links and debugging technical issues

  • A strong academic background, ideally with a BSc 2.1 degree
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • A whizz with Excel – the ability to construct formulas, use the Pivot Table function and V-lookups
  • Experience writing and editing reports.

  • Fantastic communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ideally work experience within the digital / media / advertising industry

  • At least 2 years’ experience working as a Project Manager in a digital agency or in the digital space
  • A 2.1 degree from university
  • Some experience working in Agile environments and using agile methodologies e.g. Kanban, Waterfall
  • Some experience within Marketing or Product Marketing
  • An analytical mind – someone who has a good understanding of analytics
  • Excellent communicator -both written and verbal
  • A strong interest in the technology/mobile/ user experience sector
  • Exposure to using a CMS, analytical tools and advertising platforms
  • Any knowledge of tech/development/programming is a benefit but not a necessity!
