Job Description - System Support Engineer

You will be initially supporting existing technical resources to research, diagnose, and identify solutions to reported issues with the software and operating systems supported by the business, along with assisting them in the implementation of their core solutions. Eventually being able to take ownership and responsibility to work independently. Additionally, you will be providing a professional level of customer and vendor-facing support, taking the initiative to solve a rich variety of problems, contribute to group troubleshooting discussions, and set up, configure and administrate systems and applications. There will also be project work involved, supporting clients by delivering solutions on time.

Job Responsibilities - System Support Engineer

In this System Support Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the technical team with implementations of workflows and digital asset management systems
• Liaise with customers and internal experts to ensure appropriate and timely action is taken
• Build and manage OEM/Vendor relationships
• Prioritise and manage multiple issues on the service helpdesk
• Supporting the technical team in planning, scoping and setting up of operating systems
• Manage the delivery of projects on time
• Staying abreast of software releases, new features and ongoing training/development in relevant products and functionalities
• Proactive identification and escalation of potential risks and issues
• Attending onsite where necessary

Job Requirements - System Support Engineer

In this System Support Engineer, you will be expected to have:

• An academic background in Computing/Systems Engineering or relevant field
• Knowledge of software development, ideally covered in academia or through work
• Understanding of IT Infrastructure (server, networking, storage etc)

• Problem-solving ability

• Excellent communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Strategically focused
• Customer or client service experience
• Experience in administrating a technical helpdesk or support team is beneficial
• Awareness of DAM, Workflow solutions, Project Management and helpdesk platforms is desirable
• An understanding of Linux, Mac and Windows or Cloud experience is a plus
