Job description – Business Development Manager

Our client is looking for ambitious and proactive salespeople to work closely with the directors to further the company’s growth. The candidates for this position will excel at creating and closing new business opportunities. By using a consultative approach to selling, this person will use their expertise to identify and qualify leads, leading to sales opportunities with both new and existing customers.

In this Business Development job, you will need a great attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn. The directors have years of successful industry sales experience and they’re looking to share their knowledge with you, giving you the keys to your own success.

Key responsibilities – Business Development Manager

In this Business Development graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Prospect and contact marketing decision-makers to schedule phone appointments, discover opportunities, and manage all stages of the sales process from identification to closure
  • Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services
  • Demonstrate proficiency within a consultative sales methodology that focuses on developing a clear understanding of the alignment of clients’ needs to our solutions
  • Sell clients exhibit and sponsorship packages to attain quarterly and annual sales targets
  • Successfully sell clients into the platform by following a set process and hand-over to dedicated solutions to Customer Success Managers for fulfilment (launching in the UK in 2023)
  • Achieve productivity standards and adhere to all selling process practices and standards (including inputting accurate and complete data into CRM)
  • Manage and rebook clients to obtain maximum budget annually
  • Manage customer contacts and progress through pipeline development steps within the Salesforce CRM
  • Forecast expected bookings, on-boardings and revenue based on pipeline activity
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve better results

Job requirements – Business Development Manager

  • Undergraduate degree and/or two years of relevant sales experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a high level of comfort on the phones with high-level executives
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic with analytical mindset and ability to problem solve and troubleshoot to ensure continuous improvement
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Strong communication and organisation skills; keen attention to detail
  • Dependable, resourceful, and always on the lookout for ways to improve our attendee experience
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to work independently while being a team player
  • A high sense of urgency, integrity, and personal drive
