Graduate Systems Engineer - Job description

In this entry-level Systems Engineer role, you will be working as part of the wider service desk team, providing 1st line technical support for our client’s customers. From day one, you will be dealing with traders, investors, and c-suite executives so you will be highly presentable, well-spoken and able to articulate yourself clearly. You will be managing user expectations and ensuring user satisfaction for all incident resolutions, as well as completing operational checks on an ad hoc rota basis. Full training is provided, having potential and a willingness to learn and develop will be paramount!

Graduate Systems Engineer - Key responsibilities

In this Junior Systems Engineer job in London, your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for clients
  • Managing client support by logging, diagnosing and resolving their problems via email, phone and portal
  • Using the help-desk system to document problem descriptions and resolutions
  • Escalating any high priority customer issues to management
  • Occasional out of hours scheduled work reactive to business needs (paid at an enhanced overtime rate)
  • Participating in an on-call rota for out of hours incidents (once every four to six weeks)

Graduate Systems Engineer - Job requirements

  • Educated to degree standard in a technical discipline, ideally in Computer Science or similar
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Some previous work experience within customer or client services would be ideal
  • Previous experience using Windows Desktop/Desktop OS is a huge plus!
  • An ambitious person with a drive to improve
  • Excellent admin and organisational skills
