Job description - PR Assistant

In this PR Assistant role, you will be an outgoing team player, working closely with the senior team to help further develop an in-depth understanding of clients and their businesses. You will be working across several accounts within technology and cybersecurity. Your responsibility will be to deliver primarily media relations support; including drafting briefing notes, conducting research, liaising with journalists and clients via social media, tracking media coverage and reporting. You will have plenty of exposure to social media, marketing, and content, as well as the opportunity to develop your communication skills by liaising with the media, journalists, and clients. Strong writing skills and a positive and outgoing attitude are a must!

Key responsibilities - PR Assistant

In this PR and Social Media graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring relevant features are pitched in a timely fashion
  • Managing the process of article creation and placement
  • Securing interviews with journalists
  • Developing social media programmes and campaigns
  • Building relationships with journalists via social media
  • Tracking and monitoring coverage of social media
  • Producing client reports
  • Building strong relationships with your clients and acting as first point of contact
  • Supporting international PR activity
  • Conducting interviews for case studies, producing articles and press releases
  • Producing content for social media
  • Competitor analysis and keeping up to date with industry trends
  • Disseminating PR materials to relevant media contacts

Job requirements - PR Assistant

  • A 2.2 degree from university
  • The ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • An interest in the tech PR sector
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Great eye for detail and a self-starter who takes initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • A high level of creativity and ability to think outside the box
