The worst job I've had

I have been very fortunate, I've always enjoyed and loved all jobs I've held, from being a waiter in a tapas bar, working on a hog roast stall (by far the tastiest), a hand full of bar roles at local pubs or even working in the tea rooms at the National Trust. I've always chosen jobs which I love and enjoy that way it doesn't feel like I'm working (as hard).

Job description

In this Account Executive graduate job, you will be reporting to the Field Sales Executive. You will be responsible for keeping in regular contact, leading daily stock and cash processes for ordering, picking and delivering stock for retail outlets across West London. You will be driving a 3.5 tonne van and managing your own territory - covering over 200 stores within a 10 mile radius. You will be using your sales expertise and your relationship-building abilities to make recommendations on what products retailers should stock, as well as informing them of new and exciting campaigns. This account management job is essential to the growth of the business - as you will be maintaining and establishing business relationships with retailers within your region.

Please note: You will need to have a full clean UK driving license to be considered for this opportunity.

Key responsibilities

In this Account Executive graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Following set journey schedules and seeking new customer opportunities for your territory
  • Providing a regular, reliable and consistent service for customers
  • Relationship-building with your stores to help deliver the business’ agenda
  • Leading daily stock and cash processes for ordering, picking up and delivering stock
  • Upselling and mentoring retailers on loyalty schemes and demonstrating full knowledge of products in order to educate and motivate retailers
  • Meeting and exceeding targets and consistently identifying opportunities for business growth - you are responsible for increasing defined KPI's across your territory
  • Collection and unloading of stock at the beginning and end of the day
  • Monitoring and improving the display and distribution of food and beverage products within the retail outlets
  • Managing all stock levels by assessing store databases and recommending base sales figures
  • Accurately recording all information of in-store activity

So, what are we looking for?

  • At least a second class honours from a top university
  • Some previous experience liaising and building relationships with clients
  • Previous experience in the FMCG sector is desirable
  • Field sales experience would be beneficial
  • Flawless communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills
  • A business savvy graduate, proficient in Microsoft Office
  • A real enthusiasm for all things FMCG!
  • Ideally, someone who has worked in supermarkets / retail
  • A manual driving licence is essential for this role
