Junior Project Manager - Job description

In this Junior Project Manager Graduate role in communications, you will have an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the agency, and to benefit from its development. Longer-term, if you make a valuable contribution to the business you will benefit from the small size of the team by joining at this time. You will also be given opportunities to develop faster than you would at larger companies. This presents opportunities for long-term personal and professional development as the company develops. The role will involve working on the Client Services team, planning, managing, and delivering on a varied range of client-facing corporate communications projects across a multitude of media mediums.

Junior Project Manager - Key responsibilities

In this Graduate Project Coordinator role in Hertfordshire, you can expect a jam-packed day to include the following duties, but not limited to:

  • Gaining exposure and involvement with multiple aspects of the end-to-end project cycle for exciting corporate and strategic communications projects
  • Liaising directly with clients to plan and strategise campaigns, and build meaningful relationships
  • Project timetable production and management, and deadline control
  • Budget scoping and cost management
  • Project team coordination and task delegation – coordinating stakeholders such as printers, designers, and copywriters to make the project come to life
  • Becoming a crucial first point of contact for client updates and enquiries
  • Manage projects from start to finish for client projects, as well as post-project feedback and performance review
  • Managing the administration side of the project, keeping client project files and databases organised and up-to-date
  • Supporting with Business Development to partner with new clients and drive business growth and revenue
  • Proofreading and copy editing as required

Junior Project Manager - Job requirements

  • A graduate from a top university, ideally having studied an arts/humanities subject
  • Introduction to commercial experience is desirable, such as internships or placements
  • Exceptional communication skills - you can find a way of building rapport with everyone and anyone
  • Outstanding ability on Microsoft Office
  • A natural problem solver, with great organisation/time management and the ability to think both critically and creatively
  • A real go-getter and high achiever, with the confidence to work autonomously and get things done!
  • Ability to coordinate issues between internal and external clients and internal team
  • A genuine interest in the creative sector, media, and corporate communications
