In this Sales job in London, you will be joining a hugely successful, global risk media & events business. It prides itself on providing the highest quality intelligence to risk and control professionals managing non-financial risks across the three lines of defence in financial institutions globally.

Its expert team is made up of subject matter experts, (former senior risk and control practitioners), highly experienced conference professionals, and journalists. After collating and compiling intelligence, they deliver intelligence globally through events, benchmarking surveys, special reports, a careers hub, and other media.

With its events being recognised as the leading events in their field, their Summits (London, New York & Hong Kong) were the first-ever independent conferences for the control functions that sit in the 1st line of defence. They remain the leading events for this sector globally whilst now expanded into the 2nd line of defence. After successfully delivering their flagship event in London, and with their New York event on the horizon, they are looking to hire in their Sales team.

Job description – Business Development Executive

In this Business Development graduate job, you will be joining the ambitious and vibrant sales team of a globally successful business intelligence events provider. You will assist in various new Business Development activity, with the common goal of growing event outreach through sales, in order to build further on the business' impressive reach, and ultimately drive revenue. Your target prospects will be C-level execs, banks & financial institutions, sponsors, technology vendors, and more.

Key responsibilities – Business Development Executive

In this Financial Sales Graduate opportunity, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working within the vibrant sales team with the goal of achieving ambitious growth targets
  • Researching and building a profile of prospects, in order to plan a tailored sales strategy
  • Working with MQLs (marketing qualified leads) from their great inbound funnel, as well as conducting your own lead generation
  • Investigating necessary decision makers and budget holders and qualifying leads
  • Conducting outbound prospecting, and getting involved with pitching and closing
  • This business is looking for salespeople to join both the delegate sales team, (selling events tickets & packages to C-level execs and businesses), as well as the sponsorships team (from sponsorships sales, to consultants and technology vendors)
  • Managing accounts relationships and up-selling to existing clientele
  • Travel, including international travel, may be required

Job requirements – Business Development Executive

  • This role is tailored towards university graduates, however other pathways are welcome to apply (i.e. if you went from school straight into sales!)
  • Previous experience in the sales environment: Business Development, Recruitment, etc, is beneficial but not necessary
  • A genuine drive for a long-term career in Sales and Business Development is absolutely essential
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and confidence in communicating with C-Level execs
  • Previous exposure to the financial/corporate events space is beneficial
  • Incredibly driven, motivated, and resilient
  • Highly organised
