Company profile – M&A advisory firm

In this Business Development job you will join an M&A advisory firm for the global Media, Marketing, Information, and Technology sectors. They are well established with over 60 employees across the globe, with offices in London, New York, Boston, San Francisco, and Sydney.

They serve Founders, Private Equity firms, and Global Corporations with a range of services including Buyside and Sellside M&A advisory, recapitalizations and divestitures, as well as debt advisory solutions.

Job description – Business Development Associate

In this role at an M&A firm, you will have a range of commercial objectives, focusing on identifying and qualifying new potential clients for the company and reviewing and improving the engagement model for prospects. You will be responsible for coaching and supporting Business Development activities across the firm, working closely with a range of internal colleagues and ensuring that you are driving Business Development best practices.

You will report to the Chief Business Development Officer, but will also work closely with our senior leadership team.

Key responsibilities – Business Development Associate

In this Business Development Associate role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Outreach to prospective clients via a range of channels
  • Research into potential prospects
  • Calls and Meetings with Prospective clients
  • Attending relevant industry events
  • Supporting individual Business Development sessions with partners/MDs
  • Setting agenda and Supporting weekly sales meeting with senior leadership team
  • Management and coordination of funnel activity in CRM
  • Working closely with our US colleagues to share intelligence and drive combined new business
  • Inputting and helping to shape strategies to engage with prospects

Job requirements - Business Development Associate

  • Bachelor’s level degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • 2 years+ experience in a sales and/or relationship-driven role, and is used to dealing with highly demanding clients
  • Background in finance or professional services is beneficial but not essential
  • Values of: commerciality; excellence; integrity; respect and teamwork
  • Target driven and ability to work towards targets proactively
  • Understanding of CRM and how to leverage it for BD purposes
