In this R&D Consultant job, you will be joining a consultancy specialising in R&D tax credit claims. They work with some of the UK’s most exciting and innovative businesses to help them gain access to huge amounts of revenue from Government grants and schemes put in place to incentivise innovation and investment in the UK. Established in 2020, this firm has quickly emerged as the challenger to the established market leaders. To date, it has delivered in excess of £30m of client benefit and is currently working on an additional £20m. The Government budget for R&D this year is £14.9 Billion, so there is huge potential here and this firm has an incredibly scalable model! It has ambitious growth plans to double in size every year for the next 3 years. Due to continued success, they are looking for multiple motivated graduates to join the team.

Job description - R&D Consultant

In this R&D Consultant role in London, you will be responsible for the delivery of innovation funding products (R&D Tax Relief, Patent Box, etc.) including both technical and financial aspects. Working closely with an expert commercial team, the consultant will be responsible for managing an extensive and varied client portfolio, onboarding new clients and guiding them through the process. The role also includes providing feedback to the commercial team to inform new lines of enquiry and to provide expert tax advice as appropriate to clients. Key responsibilities - R&D Consultant

In this R&D Consultant opportunity in London, your responsibilities will include:

• Manage and deliver a client portfolio
• Develop financial knowledge and expertise to be capable of providing R&D tax specific advice to clients
• Deliver technical reports and financial analyses with a high level of accuracy
• Provide exceptional client management skills so as to extend the network of the company
• Work autonomously and independently
• Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and deal with deadline pressures
• Capability for high volume work whilst maintaining attention to detail and high accuracy
• Share knowledge of previous technical areas and develop further technical curiosity

Job requirements - R&D Consultant

• A 2:1 degree from a university (Masters or PhD/EngD degree in a science or engineering subject a real plus!)
• Previous industrial experience in engineering or science-related sectors/commercial experience in R&D Tax Relief
• Excellent written skills
• Proven problem-solving abilities leveraging own initiative and proactive approach
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work autonomously with high productivity and accuracy
• Excellent teamwork skills
