As Head Resourcer, I work across a range of roles and sectors - although much of my focus is on graduate jobs in Banking & Finance and FinTech, as well as our internal hiring. I also get involved in a lot of our university outreach, building relationships with current students in preparation for their job search.

Recruitment has always appealed to me, but Give A Grad A Go felt like an especially good fit. As a recent graduate, the company seemed completely relatable. The worst job I've had

The worst job I’ve had definitely has to be working at department store in Birmingham. It was always incredibly busy, plus the store was a logistical nightmare!

In this Graduate Research Associate job, you will be joining our dynamic team of Resourcers – who are responsible for managing applications, sourcing, screening and interviewing graduates for their respective industry-specialist teams. Alongside their day to day duties, Resourcers are also there to lend a helping hand to members of the Give A Grad A Go network - whether it be giving advice on which roles would suit different graduates’ skill sets, or tips on how to create the perfect CV. You will need to be have a knack for speaking to people and a high level of empathy – as you’ll be responsible for making and maintaining contact with a range of applicants, and helping them find the perfect role for them.

Key responsibilities

In this Graduate Research Associate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Making contact with and profiling all new applicants and member registrations on the Give A Grad A Go website
  • Responding to applications and compiling shortlists for respective team roles
  • Arranging interviews for graduates to come in and meet with you and your Consultant
  • Helping graduates apply for opportunities that are right for them
  • Sharing detailed shortlists of potential strong graduates with your Consultant when new client briefs come in
  • Keeping on top of admin and providing indispensable support to your Consultant
  • Becoming an expert in your field – keeping tabs on industry hiring trends and news

So, what are we looking for?

  • A 2.1 from a top university
  • A great work ethic twinned with an excellent academic or commercial track record
  • Evidence of having worked in a fast-paced environment – whilst office experience would be ideal, having been a part of a busy retail or hospitality team is hugely relevant too
  • Commercial maturity – this role is really consultative, and you’ll need to show candidates that we are looking out for them, and that they are in safe hands
  • Someone who can keep lots of plates spinning at once – you will be supporting a team of busy Consultants who will brief you on up to 12 roles at any one time, so keeping on top of admin and being super organised is crucial

With a proven track record of event sponsorship sales, you will be researching and reaching out to new and existing clients to engage, find out about their changing needs, and gain an understanding of how participating in the discussion for cleaner energy can benefit their business and the wider world. You will need to have 2-3 years’ experience in B2B sponsorship or delegate sales, as well as a passion for clean energy – as you’ll be tasked with effectively selling the events, as well as managing the sales pipeline.

Key responsibilities

In this Sponsorship Manager job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding new topics, industries, market audiences and potential suppliers quickly
  • Identifying key businesses in order to build and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified leads
  • Exceeding agreed revenue targets for each conference and maximising revenue from each brand new deal as well as previous sponsors
  • Account management of current clients including forward selling
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior level decision makers
  • Making a minimum of 50 cold calls and 10 effective conversations per day
  • Writing bespoke sponsorship packages as well as some marketing and copywriting
  • Arranging and conducting face-to-face client meetings
  • Working closely with the marketing, production and operations teams
  • Proactively keeping abreast of the latest trends in consultative selling through books, newsletters, webinars and forums as well as having internal coaching to improve your skills

So, what are we looking for?

  • Ideally, a 2.1 or higher in a technology / engineering / business-related subject
  • 2-3 years’ of experience in B2B sales across sponsorship or delegate sales
  • A passion for clean energy and environmental change is a must!

  • The ability to influence and persuade senior decision makers, as well as close high-ticket sales with ease
  • Insightful problem solving, with the ability to handle objections with confidence and ease
