As they continue to grow, the company are now looking to find a Business Development Manager with at least 2 years’ sales experience, to join their dynamic and ambitious sales team.

Job description

In this Sales Manager job in London, you will be expected to quickly gain an understanding of funding schemes, and thereafter use that knowledge to speak to founders, CTOs and CFOs to find the best R&D Tax Credit Funding Solutions. You will be liaising with prospective clients, conducting meetings and creating proposals, whilst maintaining an exceptionally high closing rate by giving every prospect a bespoke solution that meets their exact needs.

Throughout the sales process, you will be building up your knowledge of tax, learning about company funding journeys, and becoming familiar with the innovative technologies that clients are building.

Key responsibilities

In this experienced sales job in London, your responsibilities will include:

  • Speaking with prospects over the phone, via email and video conferencing
  • Nurturing leads from sales campaigns through to contract signing
  • Prospecting and conducting meetings with CTOs / Founders to discuss their technology with a software specialist
  • Working on process improvements, to shape your work to be more effective and more enjoyable
  • Market mapping and identifying clients in your sector who your competitors are working with
  • Building relationships with founders
  • Understanding prospects pain points and responding effectively with a plan of action
  • Meeting innovative software startups and scaleups in the UK

Job Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience winning business and closing deals, either in a sales role or something equivalent, such as running your own business
  • A STEM Degree or Knowledge acquired professionally or through personal interest (Desirable)
  • Evidence of prospecting senior individuals (founders, CTOs, CEOs) on the phone and in person, and the ability to navigate organisations to reach them if necessary
  • Fantastic written and verbal communication skills
  • A great track record of maintaining high close rates and achieving targets
  • Experience within financial services, technical sales or innovation consultancy is a bonus
  • A real passion for the world of technology
  • A confident, independent self-starter who finds new ways of engaging clients
  • Excellent organisational skills - you must be able to efficiently work across multiple projects

  • A highly competitive starting salary of between £35,000 - £40,000 - please note, there is no commission with this role but the basic is increased for this
  • A flexible approach to work - while this role will require you to attend face-to-face meetings, your time outside of those meetings can be as remote as you like
