The worst job I've had

Before I worked at Give A Grad A Go, I did have a few interesting graduate jobs – probably the most challenging was working in the energy industry. It was interesting to learn about energy, but setting margins for huge corporate energy tenders was definitely a bit out of my comfort zone!

Job description

In this Business Acquisition Consultant graduate job, you will be working with the company’s Business Acquisition Managers to generate opportunities and to grow the Partnership. The purpose of the team is to engage with the company’s external marketplace of potential recruits and to book high-quality appointments for the Business Acquisition Managers; it is, in effect the front line of the company’s recruitment strategy. You will be responsible for prospecting, contacting, and marketing to advice professionals who demonstrate an interest in the opportunities that exist within the Partnership for individuals and businesses. It’s essential that you are extremely personable with strong communication skills as you will need to be confident in speaking with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

In this Business Acquisition Consultant graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the company’s Business Acquisition Managers
  • Prospecting, contacting and engaging with high-quality financial advisers using a variety of marketing techniques
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and advice professionals
  • Achieve monthly and annual targets in line with our team’s and the company’s objectives
  • Keeping up-to-date with relevant industry news and capitalising upon opportunities that exist within the marketplace

  • Ensuring a full, detailed analysis of the client to ensure the highest possible chance of future engagement
  • Building on recommendations from both the UK team and overseas teams and marketing channels
  • Ensuring that the values of the firm are represented at this important ‘front-line’ area of the business

So, what are we looking for?

  • A good level of education with minimum passes in English and Maths GCSEs
  • The role involves strong communication skills and English is requirement to present information
  • A good telephone manner is a must, along with enthusiasm and a ‘can-do’ attitude, as is the ability to work well as part of team liaising and providing information to key elements within the business
  • Ideally the candidate will be self-motivated and energetic with a positive approach
  • Ideal candidates should have some experience in a customer facing role and an ability to demonstrate the above points
  • Full training will be provided
