As Give A Grad A Go's Team Leader, I am responsible for leading a team of four Consultants and two Resourcers. It’s my job to make sure that my team are supported, getting all the help they need in order to grow within the business, as well as managing my own client base.

My area of expertise

My team and I work with clients within a huge array of sectors - including FinTech, Recruitment, FMCG and Retail to name a few. We are also building a solid client base within some emerging markets including MedTech, HealthTech, EdTech and InsurTech (everything tech!)

After spending 3 memorable hours in the office, Cary offered me a job and I accepted straight away! I’ve now been here for 3 years - and counting!

The worst job I've had

Every summer I worked on a local farm as a waitress. The role had it perks (lots of hefty bacon butties) - but mucking out the barns and the smell of manure really took its toll....

In this Office Manager graduate job, you will become an integral part of this growing team, working across a number of different areas of the business to ensure the smooth running and operation of the London office. On a day-to-day basis, you will be assisting with the organisation of the office as a whole – acting as the internal voice, working through orders and undertaking some administrative duties, as well as meeting and greeting clients and building relations with external suppliers. You’ll need to be organised, professional and a great multi-tasker – as you will be learning a number of important office-based skills as well as gaining invaluable operations experience within a vibrant investment team.

Key responsibilities

In this Office Manager graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the main point of contact for all visitors as well as managing external building partnerships
  • Meeting and greeting clients and taking messages from shareholders
  • Supporting the day to day operations across the business
  • Keeping on top of orders e.g. stationary, recycling and ad hoc orders to keep the office running smoothly
  • Assisting / covering the PA when appropriate
  • Ad hoc diary management for the investment team
  • Helping with IT Maintenance and other technical problems as they arise
  • Answering calls and helping shareholders / IFAs with any queries

  • A 2.1 degree from university
  • Ideally, 1 years’ commercial experience in an administrative role

  • Executing bank transactions, direct debits and other payments
  • Reconciling the loan book with monies collected from clients
  • Execute the regulatory filings (VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE) correctly within the stipulated timeframes
  • Assisting with optimising and building out the treasury function of the business
  • Playing a key role in the audit process, gathering information and taking part in audit meetings
  • Generally ensuring there are no surprises for management regarding the financial performance of the business
  • Maintaining the existing financial control framework, and identifying opportunities for further enhancement

So, what are we looking for?

  • A 2.1 from a top university, ideally in accounting, finance or mathematics
  • Candidates that have completed or are close to completion of an ACA or ACCA qualification would be highly desirable
  • Strong drive to gain accounting experience, learn and be hands-on - please note, you will not be sponsored to complete further study in this role
  • Working knowledge of VAT computations
  • Knowledge of payroll processing
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience of creating financial statements for inclusion in reports
  • Previous work experience as an accountant, either with an accounting firm or outside is a plus
  • A willingness to take on a broad and evolving role that at times will require you to be extremely hands-on
