Job description

In this Graduate Finance Assistant job, you will have the opportunity to develop your broad accounting skills and have responsibility and autonomy within your job. In this fantastic new role, you'll be responsible for supporting the Financial Controller and helping the finance department run smoothly. You will also be involved with the M&A tasks as required. You will be part of an energetic team where your talents will be appreciated and rewarded; and study support will be provided for an aspiring AAT/ACCA Accountant.

Key responsibilities

In this Finance Assistant job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Purchase and Sales ledger
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Accruals and Prepayments
  • Assisting with month-end reporting
  • Assisting with year-end reporting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Payment runs
  • Adhoc duties as they relate to merger & acquisitions

Job requirements

  • A 2:1 from a good university - ideally in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • Excellent mathematical skills and great attention to detail
  • Part AAT qualified is a plus
  • Good problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly with spreadsheets, formulas and calculation software
  • Solid communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Familiarity with finance and accounting principles and practices
