Job description

In this Accounting Analyst graduate job, you will be developing your knowledge of operations and finance within a rapidly growing tech firm. You will be responsible for payroll, bookkeeping, management accounting, preparing VAT and trial balances for statutory reporting, and liaising internally with the finance department. It’s essential that you have experience working in a similar role, and that you are a proactive team player, as you will be the go-to when it comes to all payment-related queries.

Key responsibilities

In this Accounting Analyst job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Onboarding clients to ensure the customer onboarding journey is seamless
  • Supporting the current team in a variety of areas to ensure high quality client service at all times
  • Continuously learning in order to develop the skills to managing your own client base and workload
  • Prepares monthly accounting month end close
  • Answering internal and external queries regarding payments
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, bookkeeping, VAT, PAYE, CT600 delivery
  • Identifying account reconciliation issues
  • Ensuring that the company is adhering to financial standards
  • Helping to improve the internal processes within the business

Job requirements

  • A minimum of a 2.1 in a numerate subject from a top university
  • ACCA/ACA/CIMA part qualified
  • 9 months+ experience working in a accountancy firm or as a Finance Assistant, ideally within a small firm working with SME/startups
  • Xero experience is a big plus!
  • Great Excel skills – you’ll know your VLOOKUPS from your pivot tables
  • A desire to dive into the world of finance
  • Working knowledge of PAYE, VAT, accounts payables, accounts receivables and month end processes
  • The ability to take the initiative to solve problems and a desire to learn are key
  • Great communication skills – you’ll need to be confident communicating with a variety of teams
