Job description

In this Graduate Software Developer job in London, you will work closely with the senior Engineering team, and will report into both of the Co-Founders. You will be responsible for supporting the development of PHP backend applications and optimising the mobile app’s overall performance using profiling tools. As a Junior Full Stack Developer, you will enjoy a period of training to develop your full-stack web and API development skills. Your role will be working to develop and consistently improve processes and services. A technical aptitude is crucial, as is excellent communication skills which will be required from day one.

Key responsibilities

As a Junior Software Developer, your tasks will include:

• Developing PHP backend applications
• Creating RESTful APIs
• Creating a reactive application structure using NgRx
• Creating an optimized structure of webpages
• Ensuring the styling across all pages in the application using Sass
• Creating reusable Angular components
• Optimizing the overall application performance using profiling tools
• Working with the team to create robust communication using API with different services

• 1-2 years experience in Software Development
• Excellent knowledge of PHP (with experience in Yii, Symfony or Laravel)
• Experience in SQL, in particular, using MySQL or MariaDB is required
• Good knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Knowledge of Angular 10 or similar framework
• Passion for design and architectural patterns such as MVC, MVVM, state management, DI/IoC
• Proficiency with HTML/CSS, SCSS/Sass and/or other preprocessing CSS languages
• Understanding of the mobile application life cycle
• Understanding how Ionic 4 framework works preferred
• Experience of using Flux/Redux/NgRx preferred
• Experience of working with Google Firebase preferred
• XCode and Android Studio knowledge would be an added bonus
• Docker experience preferred

• A competitive Junior Salary of £30,000 - £45,000 (Flexible DOE)
