The worst job I've had

I have been very fortunate, I've always enjoyed and loved all jobs I've held, from being a waiter in a tapas bar, working on a hog roast stall (by far the tastiest), a hand full of bar roles at local pubs or even working in the tea rooms at the National Trust. I've always chosen jobs which I love and enjoy that way it doesn't feel like I'm working (as hard).

Job description

In this Business Development Executive graduate job, you will be responsible for proactively sourcing, developing and closing new business opportunities across local and UK businesses. On a day to day basis, this will involve generating new leads, using a consultative sell to provide the best fit for clients, and converting these leads into new business. You will need to be highly self-motivated, knowledgeable and confident, as you will be tasked with selling a range of products and services to an array of different clients, as well as meeting and exceeding challenging targets.

Key responsibilities

In this Business Development Executive graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating and sourcing new leads, business sales, and revenue retention
  • Taking complete ownership of every aspect of the sales lifecycle in order to consistently exceed targets
  • Undertaking research on new industries and clients
  • Attending client meetings and delivering presentations
  • Demonstrating excellent knowledge of the clients’ media products, and using a consultative sell in order to provide the best fit for clients

So, what are we looking for?

  • A minimum of a 2.1 from a university
  • A desire to build a career within a fast-paced and highly rewarding media sales environment
  • Knowledge of digital print, design or photography would be an advantage within this role
  • Ideally, some relevant experience working within a sales environment, including a proven track record in client relationship management and B2B new business sales
  • A highly enthusiastic and ambitious demeanour with exceptional communication skills
  • Someone who loves working in a target-driven environment
