Job description

In this new graduate Systems Engineer role, you would be joining a tight-knit team of 6. You can expect a varied position as the company grows, working on designing systems from scratch and gaining invaluable exposure to a wide range of Linux-based systems. You will have the unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and the chance to contribute to major engineering decisions.

Key responsibilities

In this Graduate Engineer job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintenance and deployment of Linux desktops and servers
  • Administration of network infrastructure
  • Handling a variety of projects including building virtual machine clusters using open source technologies
  • Assisting with the development of configuration management
  • Help with monitoring alerts and the monitoring platform
  • Always working to drive best practice standards, and where practical taking preference on open source solutions

Job requirements

  • Educated to degree level, with a minimum 2.1 result ideally in a relevant numerate subject (e.g. Computer Science, Physics)
  • Ideally, you'll be well versed with Linux, ideally with experience in advanced command line
  • A real eagerness to learn and develop your skills in a startup environment
  • Ideally, experience with configuration management
  • Working knowledge of IP networking
