Job description

In this graduate Engineering job in Hull, you will be joining a small-team start-up who are in their growth and development prototype phase, about to close their series A funding. Atypical from the usual engineering graduate schemes, you’ll get stuck in with design and practical tasks. Working alongside expert engineers and scientists you will gain great responsibility and autonomy within Electrical Engineering. You will work directly with the Chief Scientific Officer, the Development Director and the design team, with occasional support from experienced electrical engineering consultants. You will design, spec, supply and assemble power supplies to meet rig and prototype testing requirements,

Key responsibilities

In this Engineering job for graduates in Hull, your responsibilities will include:

  • Support design and assembly of short-term 50kW power supply to meet rig testing requirements,
  • Design, spec, supply and assemble long-term 50-200kW power supply to meet rig and prototype testing requirements,
  • Work with design and instrumentation team to integrate power supply into rigs and prototype designs,
  • Support design team with production product design,
  • Support instrumentation team as required.

Job requirements

  • An Electrical Engineering graduate from a top university
  • 2-3 years previous experience in electrical engineering, ideally within a start-up / research & development phase
  • Experience working with high-power, high-voltage systems
  • Experience designing, supplying, and assembling power systems
  • Superb numerical and analytical skills
  • Willingness to get hands dirty with practical work as well as design work
  • A highly confident communicator who is able to liaise with clients directly
  • A keen interest in the energy sector, sustainability, clean hydrogen energy, and a passion to transform the sector with emission-free clean hydrogen to battle climate change.
