The worst job I've had

I have been very fortunate, I've always enjoyed and loved all jobs I've held, from being a waiter in a tapas bar, working on a hog roast stall (by far the tastiest), a hand full of bar roles at local pubs or even working in the tea rooms at the National Trust. I've always chosen jobs which I love and enjoy that way it doesn't feel like I'm working (as hard).

Job description

In this Digital Marketing Assistant graduate job, you will be focusing on developing your SEO skills – working on keyword research projects, exploring the websites of key competitors, and identifying link acquisition opportunities. You’ll also be undertaking other ad hoc tasks - including writing copy and content, and scheduling social media posts. To be successful in the role you’ll need to be both ambitious and adaptable, as you will be expected to work autonomously on a variety of complex projects and tasks, whilst developing your knowledge of SEO.

Key responsibilities

In this Digital Marketing Assistant graduate job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Researching competitor websites to understand what works well for them
  • Reviewing your clients’ rankings regularly
  • Identifying link acquisition opportunities and strategies to prevent negative impacts on client websites
  • Carrying out SEO work for clients including link building and social media scheduling
  • Producing content and copy for clients (such as blogs)
  • Supporting the rest of the digital marketing team with a variety of ad hoc tasks, including adding meta data to websites, and proofreading documents
  • Liaising with clients to maintain positive relationships and ensuring that their marketing is on track

So, what are we looking for?

  • A degree from a good university in a marketing or humanities degree (ideally, a 2.1)
  • A love of digital marketing – especially SEO!
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • A strong grasp of MS Excel and Word
  • Proven ability in content and copy writing
  • The ability to work to deadlines
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
