Regular client interaction and liaising with our team internally ensures that the right graduates are being introduced to these companies at the right time.

I came to Give A Grad A Go as a graduate 4 years ago in the hope of finding a role within Marketing & Advertising or PR & Communications in London. It quickly became clear that what I was really looking for was a chance to communicate with these industries rather than work within them. The worst job I've had

I found myself working in the energy industry before I worked at Give A Grad A Go. It was really interesting to learn more about energy, but setting margins for huge corporate energy tenders felt a little bit out of my comfort zone!

Job description

In this Business Development Manager job, you will play a pivotal role in the company, driving revenue for the latest HR advice feature of their tech product. This exciting new business position will require at least 3 years' commercial experience. You will be leading the sales team and ensuring that new hires into the team are developing to their full potential.

Key responsibilities

In this Business Development Manager job, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out a variety of outbound activity to maintain a sales pipeline of new leads
  • Working closely with the HR software sales team to convert inbound leads into product sales
  • Working through the entire sales cycle ensuring multiple touchpoints and following up calls and emails
  • Developing the sales workflow with processes being optimised where required
  • Ensuring that you understand the product features inside and out through strong relationships with the in house HR advisors
  • Reporting to key stakeholders in the business on the sales pipeline

Job requirements

  • Previous proven experience in a B2B sales environment (ideally, at least 3 years experience) – with the numbers to back it up
  • A smart and driven candidate educated to degree level, ideally with a minimum of a 2.1
  • Exposure with CRM platforms (e.g. Hubspot)
  • A solid understanding of the entire sales pipeline
  • It’s an added bonus if you have experience selling services and/or worked in a small business previously!
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive and ambitious person with a real ‘can-do’ attitude
  • A real passion for the startup industry and an active interest in how small businesses operate and grow
